HAZOP analysis is an important part of design safety review. At the beginning of February, the basic engineering design of the Calcium Hypochlorite Plant in Colombia, which was designed and supplied by LUVA, was nearing completion, and the HAZOP analysis meeting was successfully held as scheduled.
This project uses the chlorine gas produced by the caustic soda plant as raw material, and uses the sodium process to produce bleaching powder products. During the two-day HAZOP analysis execution period, relevant professional and technical personnel from the technology provider and the design institute had a “brainstorm” discussion. Members of the team conducted in-depth discussions from their respective professional perspectives and high-risk scenarios in the later actual operation process.
The HAZOP analysis meeting is carried out to systematically review the process and operation of the chemical plant, so as to determine and evaluate the potential hazards and consequences caused by wrong operation, wrong execution or deviation from the design purpose. Combined with the safety, stability and rectification feasibility of the existing production equipment, a number of analysis results were formed, and the final HAZOP analysis report was formed.
The convening of this meeting provides the necessary design basis for the safe and stable operation of the device after the calcium hypochlorite project is completed. It also lays a solid foundation for achieving high-quality and efficient completion of project construction goals and tasks.
